Nature’s Light

Approaching the woods, caught in a whirlwind of future fears, I abruptly stopped. “No”, I said aloud pulling myself back to the present. Instantly recalling a post sent by a friend on how disruptive humans are to nature. Our disturbance sends a wave ahead of us signaling to the natural world that we are here - be aware and beware!

Ok, I thought, “let’s try setting the intention to be in harmony and connection with nature.” Immediately my heart softened and expanded, as my mind settled. My eyes and ears sharpened, attuning to the woodland. It was a weird sensation, a combination of relaxing but with heightened awareness – presence.

A journey of delight

With might so bright

How can you resist

Natures light

Walking lightly to blend in, I gazed at the fall beauty surrounding me with gratitude. Suddenly and much to my surprise, the silent woods came alive! A chipmunk chirped and scurried in the leaves and branches along side of me. I said a silent “hello”. A symphony of crickets hummed, punctuated by the occasional buzz of a bee. A squirrel ran across the path 25 yards ahead then a blue jay cried out. I started to notice mushrooms, flowers and fallen clumps of pine needles.

Everything I discovered felt like it was leading me to the next. Faces on trees and rocks shaped like animals - nature spirits coming out to join the fun! Messages flooded in around the vibrancy, continuity and robust qualities of the natural world.

Everything we need exists within it. We are part of it, not separate. Weave yourself back into nature. Let her teach, heal and remind you. Everything is interconnected.

Let her light

Bring you back

To right

I exited the woods with a quiet mind, a bit wiser and a heart filled with joy.
