Nearing the end of my walk, I picked up my pace to make it home before 5pm. Just about to turn left, something nudged me to look up. Across the road, a beautiful turkey gazed inquisitively at me. Stopping to admire him, I silently asked if he could fan his tail feathers. He obliged, then abruptly broke the display after I got the shot. Smiling, I thanked him.
Our brief engagement came with a with a little dose of turkey wisdom, ‘Slow down, enjoy the moment and everything around you.’

Instead of paced walking to reach a goal, what if the goal was to simply enjoy the walk? The real gifts are found in the stillness, noticing, being, interacting, and creating. Slowing down to enjoy the process, environment, intimacy, and connection - the beauty of life as it unfolds. Slow allows us to be in the moment, truly enjoying and appreciating it!
